Fanciful in design but soothing to the touch best describes the Nisse spoon. Made of poplar and lightly carved to give distinction and character. These spoons are featured in Gayle Oram’s new book, Rosemaling Styles, Study and Design.
Nisse or Gnome, name it as you will. This Nisse spoon is shaped to fit the hand comfortably in various positions and when painted this piece makes a beautiful addition for your display. I have designed both right and left handed styles to accompany the Nisse Time Keeper, which is also offered as an addition. These spoons are offered in either a “flat” style bowl or a “carved” style bowl in a more traditional style.
You can find more information about Gayle on the Artists page. Her book can be purchased below and includes a suggested Rosemaling style of Rococo and Vest Agder for the spoons.
The overall dimensions are 4-1/4”w x 13”t x 1”d
