Trivet Tray

This piece was originally designed as a trivet tray to protect your counters or table from hot dishes etc.  Then I thought I could take the design a bit further and give it a multitude of uses - making this an item where you get to choose how to display your tiles or other artwork.  

What other uses you ask? Your creativity is waiting to be unleashed...

• The traditional flush mount trivet is an obvious first
• How about the tile positioned flush on the bottom? Remove the spacers, insert the tile and now you have a trivet holder that will keep those hot or cold items fenced in.
• Or, you can remove the feet, adhere your tile into the trivit tray and use it as a picture frame.   
• With so many tiles available think of the unlimited possibilities and attractive displays you could create.

You can finish this piece by painting or staining it with a complementary color to the tile or use a clear coating which will accentuate the natural beauty of the wood.  This piece was made with the finest grade of poplar hardwood and sturdy birch plywood was used for the base.
